Central Wyoming Tree Care Workshop

University of Wyoming Extension will host the Central Wyoming Tree Care Workshop Saturday, April 5. The conference is designed for anyone who wants to learn more about trees and their care.

The event begins at 8:30 a.m. and concludes at 4 p.m.

Speakers include ISA Master Arborist Bill Scott Jr. He will discuss how roots, soil and microorganisms can influence tree health. UW Extension plant pathologist Jean Williams-Woodward will address how to identify and manage diseases, pests and other problems that afflict Wyoming tree species. Scott Skogerboe, of the Fort Collins, Colo., Wholesale Nursery, will discuss the history of the High Plains Arboretum outside Cheyenne and how the plants grown there have impacted tree diversity and availability in Wyoming. Chrissy Land, western Nebraska community forestry specialist with the Nebraska Forest Service, will discuss pruning trees and shrubs.
