About the event

The Wyoming Food Coalition and the Washakie County Conservation District have partnered to bring you a two-day webinar with presentations from professionals on Wyoming native plant foraging, traditional plant uses, edible habitat design, and even cooking with wild plants while learning how biodiversity can strengthen food systems and wildlife habitat.

This webinar is inspired by Washakie County's local collaborative called "FULL: Hearts. Bellies. Pantries.", focused on food production, procurement, preparation and preservation. This event will bring together practitioners from across Wyoming to highlight native plants that support Wyoming people and ecosystems.

The presentations are as follows:

  • Leah Burback, Heirloom & Native: Foraging: Plant Identification: Edible, Medicinal and Poisonous

  • Kelly Pingree & Billie Spoonhunger, Wind River Food Sovereignty Project: Traditional Uses of Native Plants in School Meals - Indigenous Farm to School Initiative

  • Janet Hofmann, Washakie County Conservation District: Native Plant Resources

May 7th:
