Wyoming Food Systems Assessment -
American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA)

DFS.jpg
The NourishedRX Assessment found the Wyoming Food Coalition (WFC), is the natural organization to lead and convene food systems improvement across sectors. We work to market and coordinate Grant Monies, totaling 1.3 million, from the Food Works Group to producers, distributors, and food hubs and pantries in Wyoming to improve and  grow a resilient food system. See more information on this grant program below, including videos explaining the process.

We're excited to invite you to apply for the Forward Contract (Future Purchase Agreement) Full Program, a grant opportunity designed to strengthen Wyoming's local food system by supporting relationships and food purchases between Wyoming producers and food security service organizations.

With approximately $992,650 available, this program offers two tracks:

  • Planning grants ($5,000-$50,000) for those building new partnerships, and

  • Implementation grants ($25,000-$100,000) for proven partnerships ready to scale.

Whether you're a Wyoming producer, food pantry, food bank, or aggregation/distribution business, we encourage you to think creatively about how to get more Wyoming-grown food to communities experiencing food insecurity.

Applications will open at 12:00 pm (noon) MT on Tuesday, January 20, 2026 and final applications are due by 12:00 pm (noon) MT on Tuesday, February 17, 2026 and will be submitted online via Submittable.

This work is part of the $2.4 million American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA)-funded Food Security System Implementation Project to strengthen food access in Wyoming by distributing funds and providing technical assistance to food system contributors in the state. The Wyoming Department of Family Services awarded a contract to Food Works Group (FWG) to administer this program and distribute funds throughout the state of Wyoming. FWG is a nationally focused advisory firm that supports local and regional food systems.

FWG will host office hours (via Google Meet, which you can access via phone or computer) to answer questions and discuss the application on:

Tuesday, February 3, 11am - 12pm MT

Thursday, February 12, 10:00a - 11:00am MT
