Soil is a complex and fascinating system that is the foundation of all the work we do in ecosystem services, agriculture, and reclamation. Dr. Caitlin Youngquist will share the first principle of soil health and function in a way that will be helpful to anyone who would like to better understand the biology and chemistry underneath our feet. She will provide a very brief overview of the soil system, carbon and mineral based amendments, field and lab soil assessment tools, and share her perspective on soil-based decision-making.
